Green Day uses concerts as political platform

Punk rock band Green Day is back on tour, playing a mix of new songs and music from their most popular album, “American Idiot.” With a wide fan base spanning from original listeners, to baby boomers and teens, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has used the concerts to create a space of unity where he feels our country is lacking one.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Armstrong addresses his dislike for Trump and how he wants his concerts to be a safe space for people to enjoy themselves away from negative press.

Even if people know how Armstrong feels about Trump, he tries not to talk about the president too much on stage as he feels it adds fuel to the fire.
